Entry 022: The Drdek
Normally any amount of detailed gore is where I tend to draw the line in something, and as someone with at least mild ommetaphobia, eye horror in particular really gets to me. But a lot of the time Yu-Gi-Oh gets so weirdly creative with its gore monsters that I can't help but admire. Drdek is a monster that's very simple. Just a bird-like talon or demonic hand with an eyeball, stalk and all, growing out of it. And with how detailed they get with the veins, even to the point of having some feather off, it is supremely gross. But it's a fascinating flavor of gross.
And while this isn't our first Fiend type, I definitely feel like it's the first notable Fiend type. Like the Fairy type, Fiend is a localization. In Japan, "Fiend" is actually the "Demon" type. Once again, you can probably guess that Fiend is one of my favorite types, haha.
Either way, Drdek is disgusting and I can respect that!
