...*Ahem*...!
About Us!
Howdy! We're Vixi, Luna, and Jinx a plural system of three! Vixi is a trans enby/genderfluid woman (pronouns: She/her, They/Them, and sometimes He/him) and a lesbian. Luna is a trans enby (pronouns: She/her, They/them) lesbian. And Jinx is a trans woman (pronouns: She/her, They/them). Probably brain-broked with SOME kind of executive dysfunction that I still need to see a doctor about one of these days. And We're artists with a lot of enthusiasm for monster and character design! Drawing is part of our daily routine, and we love designing monsters and characters alike. A big heft of that goes thanks to Pokemon, Pikmin, Metroid, Yu-Gi-Oh, and a bit of Mega Man as well.
Our "Main thing" is Pokemon, as seen by how we've been drawing fanart for it since I was aged in the single-digits, and went through and reviewed my personal opinion on every single one of them. Pokemon's a big reason why I'm so in love with monster design as an art, which I sadly feel has a tendency to get overlooked. The art of creating video game creatures has been my passion for a while because of that!
We've also been getting into Let's Playing as of late, been doing one video per day for a bit now!
Why'd Y'all Make This Blog?
Well, we used to have a similar blog on tumblr (still do), but it always felt just confining enough to keep me from branching out away from Pokemon. Not too long after we started it, we had imagined getting our own website at some point. And... a Blogspot isn't QUITE that, but it's a hell of a lot closer and is good enough for my no-good-at-web-design ass.
Simply put though, we have a lot of thoughts, and things like Twitter aren't always the best outlet for said thoughts. Sadly though, as an artist with a non-art full time job, we don't exactly have a ton of time to make video essays, nor the budget to be hiring on an editor for video essays. SO blog format it's just gonna have to be.
This blog is gonna be home to a lot of things going forward. Its main attraction is going to be the monster and character (but mostly monster) reviews, where we analyze the designs of creatures throughout loads of media. A side-attraction is going to be my reaction pieces, where we write quickie little reactive pieces on... whatever we want, really! Mostly leaning toward new stuff that's happened in the fandoms we're in. As aforementioned, we've been getting into Let's Playing games as well, which we consider as something under the "Let's Talk About" blog umbrella, since we spend a lot of the talking space in said let's plays discussing our thoughts on a game.
