137: Porygon

Now HERE'S a Pokemon like no other. There's a handful of man-made Pokemon throughout Pokemon's history, but none with a background like Porygon's. Porygon is a Pokemon made up entirely of programming, and is somehow capable of achieving a physical form, and having AI advanced enough to be at least semi-sentient. It's weird that one of the first man-made Pokemon is arguably the most technologically advanced in the series to date.

Porygon does look a lot like a primitive 3D model of a duck, but it also looks like another man-made object, an origami crane! A lovely motif for a simple little creature.

I do love how it does genuinely look like what game 3D models looked like in 1996. Porygon wouldn't look too out of place as a critter in a PS1 or N64 game, apart from making its edges so obvious. But hey, it kinda has to in order to sell its digital look. I do also really like its cotton candy color scheme. Porygon is just all-around pleasant!
