200. Misdreavus

Feels kinda lame that Gen 1 had such a limited roster of Ghost types, and Gen 2 sought to expand it by... 1. Welp. Yeah, I guess it's no wonder that I didn't really grow to like Ghost types until later gens finally introduced some more.

Misdreavus is still a solid design though, with how it represents a more traditional sheet ghost but also a banshee, with its more traditionally feminine appearance with the hair and necklace combined with a move that it was known for back in the day, Perish Song, which is at least a LITTLE bit like a banshee's shriek. And of course, it's called the "Screech Pokemon" with the Pokedex speaking of its screaming antics.

The thick outline of its eyes with them also being half-lid give it a nice personality. Not necessarily one that's in-line with banshees, in fact, I sort of wish it looked a little mopier with a much more exaggerated screamer face when it attacks or gets upset, but you can only expect so much out of a Gameboy game I suppose. Either way, I also like how it looks even just a little bit like a haunted, floating bust statue.
