Hisuian Samurott:

The next starter is Samurott, who's gotten significantly edgier but little else. Again, fair enough to keep alternate forms of the starters relatively unchanged, but that's almost always gonna come with our complaint of "this could've been pushed just a little bit harder."

Either way, it has a bunch of smaller differences going on, with a more crooked-looking shell and just overall being a bit more dubious-looking, even having a curlier mustache. This Water/Dark type variant serves as a good rival to its normal form, good samurai vs evil samurai and all. It is surprising that just darkening Samurott's base color and adding black and red doesn't aggressively clash with the design. Just, yeah. The thing that's just not having us in love with it is how it's just about what you'd expect from "Samurott, but darker." So there just ends up not being very much to say about it. Cool, but not surprising in any way.
