Hisuian Lilligant:
Oh right, this thing existed. We like Unovan Lilligant enough as a pleasant, if not very wild design. The Hisuian variant here becomes Grass/Fighting of all things and takes up a fight-dancer theme. Which is at least a unique take for the type, but we dunno if Lilligant is a good fit for it. Let alone if the execution was pulled off very well.
It feels like the core of Hisuian Lilligant's design is that it just takes away rather than adds. Lilligant had a neat body shape in that what looked like a big ball gown was actually just its bulb-shaped body, with four tiny feet on the bottom. A more rough-and-tumble take on Lilligant isn't an inherently bad idea; it makes sense to take off the bulb and to give it legs and to shorten its leaf-hair and all that.
But what's left in the end is just some bipedal plant girl thing. It'd be way more interesting if this dancing Pokemon picked up on Lilligant's four-footed thing and turned it into a four-legged plant girl as it dances around and slam-kicks with four legs. Would've given the design more much-needed intrigue by giving an otherwise such generic design a bit of an uncanny factor to it. As-is this kind of just feels pointless.
While we have a hard time calling it outright bad, it feels like a pretty significant downgrade from Unovan Lilligant. Thankfully this is the only outright loser of a design in this batch of new 'mons.
