Let's Talk About Pokemon - The Seedot Family

See? Dot!

273: Seedot

A mono-grass type Pokemon was almost bound to be a sentient acorn, and we got one before too long! Seedot is a cute little acorn thing, with it being amusingly ineffectual with it essentially being a head on two feet. Some real Kirby enemy energy right there. We do like how it's expression is relatively unchanging though, really gives the impression this guy is made out of wood or something.

Personal Score: 6.5/10

The weirdest Pikmin you've ever seen

274: Nuzleaf

This mid-evo, however is. Ehhh. It's already a bummer this thing went from an odd plant creature to something more blatantly humanoid, both in body shape and face. The only thing we really like is the face markings that look a bit like a mask, but the rest of it is not at all exciting.

...But then they drew the thing with nipples. Wh, why? Isn't this thing supposed to be a plant? Why are you implying this plant has mammary glands? Hello? Help? Somebody?

Personal Score: 5/10

I USED TO BE NOTHING BUT THE E_MAIL GUY, NOW I'M THE [[It Burns! Ow! Stop! Help Me! It Burns!]] GUY!

275: Shiftry

It isn't until the third evolution that the line's Tengu inspirations become obvious. With a long nose, big fan-shaped hands, and standing on feet that look like geta. And it's perfectly alright as a tengu creature of some sort. We even like how it looks like a wooden head with arms and legs. It's at least a little cooler than Ludicolo, but at the same time, it kind of has the opposite problem of Ludicolo.

Ludicolo has one too many elements going on, whereas Shiftry here feels like it's missing something to make this all that clever. A lilypad kappa was a neat idea, but tengus are already forest goblins of sorts. The only real twist here is that Shiftry is Dark type rather than Flying like you'd expect out of a tengu.

Personal Score: 6.5/10
