Let's Talk About Pokemon - Scream Tail

But Professor Sada accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction...

985: Scream Tail

Already hitting an unexpected subject for a semi-legendary super form, Scream Tail is a prehistoric Jigglypuff! And at least as far as the past-form Paradoxes go, it's the least eventful of the bunch. It has yellow eyes instead of blue, markings giving the suggestion of eyelashes, cute lil fangs. You can't see it on the key art, but it indeed has a tiny tail. Though it hardly seems to be this thing's namesake, seeing as it has a much longer puff of hair on its head that flows and curls around as if a tail.

And that's kinda it. It's far from bad, and I'm definitely in support of the concept of not-fully-evolved Pokemon getting some super-charged version of it like this, just for those folks that much prefer those NFE forms over what they evolve into. Just, yeah. One of the Paradoxes I have the least to talk about with. Other than the fact that it would be fun, if Pokemon did more "super forms" along these kinds of lines, where they make an NFE Pokemon more powerful, albeit in a roundabout way. Just because it's conceptually funny that this abnormally large Jigglypuff has a base stat total almost up there with Legendary Pokemon.

Another thing about these Pokemon's dex entries is that they're hella unreliable, often making outrageous speculative statements. Scream Tail's Violet entry makes the ridiculously bold claim that this is "Jigglypuff from one billion years ago". Which, for frame of reference, on modern-day Earth, that was equate to Scream Tail being around when multicellular life was theorized to be beginning to develop.

Personal Score: 7/10
