1003: Ting-Lu

Next up on the Calamity Canon is the living vessel, a giant decorative cauldron that rose a body made of earth and stone to make itself into the shape of a huge elk, being a Dark/Ground type. The cauldron is situated atop the body's head, both seemingly for the amusing visual of an animal balancing pottery on its head, but also so the bowl, complete with its decorative flare and split crack down the middle, turns the thing into makeshift antlers.

While maybe not as visually strong or memorable as the others in this legendary group, it's still a solid design and nice that they're playing a silly concept so seriously again. I mainly just think it didn't go quite far enough with the earthy concept. Like, this thing feels like it aught to look rougher and more torn from the Earth than its rather clean and symmetrical body. It has a "beard" made of craggy earth shards, just add more of those! Than and its eye-sockets could've looked cooler if they were more cavernous, than the black markings merely giving the suggestion of sunk-in eye sockets.
